While the international release of Logan didn’t carry this trailer, it’s caused quite a bit of excitement for all fans of high-quality, arthouse film fans. And Deadpool fans, too.

“NATHAN SUMMERS COMING SOON!”
For those unfamiliar with X-Men mythology, Nathan Summers is the real name of Cable, son of Cyclops and Jean Grey(‘s clone) from the future, and chief protagonist of most X-Force titles, in which Deadpool first appeared.
That’s probably the single most messed-up sentence I’ve ever had to type.
More interestingly is the inclusion of several Firefly posters in the background. While the obvious connection would be that Deadpool‘s leading lady, Morena Baccarin, was a star in Joss Whedon’s legendary space-western, this could also be seen as a sly jab at Fox for messing µp Firefly all those years ago, not very different from what they did to Deadpool in the first Wolverine movie.
What did you think of the Deadpool teaser? For now, I’m glad that it seems to be retaining its sense of humour despite some issues with the change in talent.
At the rate it’s going, I think we can safely expect the February box office to be dominated by a superhero movie by Fox.
