Following their recent announcement of Kevin Hart’s nomination as 2015’s recipient of the MTV Comedic Genius Award, MTV has now revealed the recipient for the 2015 MTV Generation Award: the Armoured Avenger himself: Robert Downey Jr.

Pegged as its highest honour, the MTV Generation Award acknowledges actors who have engaged MTV’s audience throughout their career. Past recipients have included Jamie Foxx, Johnny Depp, Sandra Bullock and Jim Carrey.

Most fittingly, Downey will be presented the award by his Avengers: Age of Ultron co-stars, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner. And if that wasn’t enough for Avengers fans, MTV Movie Awards 2015 will also air an exclusive 90-second clip from the blockbuster film introduced by the cast.

Additionally, the voting for the Best Hero Award begins today, and will be held entirely via social media hashtags. The nominees include:

▪Bilbo Baggins (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies)
▪Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1)
▪Star-Lord (Guardians of the Galaxy)
▪Thomas (The Maze Runner)
▪Tris Prior (The Divergent Series: Insurgent)

With a red carpet pre-show hosted by the trendsetting Jessie J and the awards show itself emceed by stand-up comedienne Amy Schumer, the MTV Movie Awards 2015 will air on the 13th of April at 7am (TH/WIB), 8am (PH/SG) and 9am (MY).
