Play Two FREE Games At Home Courtesy of PlayStation

And no, it isn't some PS Plus trap...

If it wasn’t already, “Play At Home” should be the mantra of the season. And Sony’s about to make it worth your while, with the PlayStation Plus treatment. Kinda.

If you aren’t already familiar with the perks that PlayStation Plus members receive: them lucky fellas get 2 free games a year. Well, it isn’t really free per se, because the service is paid for, but it’s still cool.

Now however, Sony’s decided to extend the kindness with their Play At Home initiative. Thanks to most of the world staying in, all PlayStation 4 users will be entitled to two free games until 6th May. And unlike the PlayStation Plus free games, these will be yours too keep. So it’s more Steam and less PlayStation Plus, really.

The Two Games are really FOUR Games

But before you race off to get Spider-Man, the Sony’s already decided on the games. First up is Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection*. Remember how we said two games? Well this entire collection counts as ONE. Someone over at Sony wasn’t great with the counting, and we’re not complaining.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. If there was ever a collection to make you appreciate sit and play at home, this is it.

The second game is Journey, a 2012 favourite originally meant for the PlayStation 3. It was ported to the PlayStation 4 in 2015. Where Uncharted is essentially torturing a man with exercise, Journey may make you miss the outside world. It’s gonna be a balancing act to play both.

Supporting Indie Developers

But the Play At Home initiative is more than just free games. In addition to dishing out two free games to all PlayStation players, Sony has also earmarked US$10 million to support it independent development partners. More information about the fund and participation criteria, will be made available soon.

So be sure to go grab these games, by 6th May 8pm (GMT+8)

*Players in Germany and China will receive Knack II instead of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Knack II is a 2017 action-platform game by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
