The Sonos Ace headphones are the wireless audio systems giant’s new addition to the market. They combine design and function to establish themselves as a highly competitive option.

Sonos has used much of its know-how to engineer and design the Ace for everyday use and to integrate it into their ecosystem.

SONOS-Ace-Review-Case

The Sonos Ace headphones come with various accessories to enhance your listening experience. The package includes a sleek travel case with a dedicated cable pouch, ensuring your headphones and cables are neatly organized and protected while on the go.

You’ll also find a USB-C to USB-C cable, perfect for charging and connecting to modern devices, and a USB-C to 3.5mm cable, providing versatile connectivity options for various audio sources.

These thoughtful additions make the Sonos Ace headphones a convenient and comprehensive audio solution for any situation.

The headphones are elegantly designed, with robust matte black or white metal accents that add a touch of class.

They can be folded flat for easy transportation, and their oval ear cups provide exceptional comfort during extended listening sessions.

The build quality is premium, with high-quality materials presenting a stylish and durable product.

The Ace headphones deliver premium sound quality. Each ear cup houses a robust 40mm driver, producing rich, clear audio.

The active noise cancellation feature effectively suppresses background noise, making it ideal for noisy environments such as commuting, travelling, or home. This feature enhances the listening experience by eliminating distractions.

Every note is crystal clear whether you’re listening to music, pop beats, or movie soundtracks. The integrated Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Lossless Audio ensures high-fidelity wireless playback with low latency, providing seamless media enjoyment.

However, the Sonos Ace seems to lack when delivering hard, punchy bass – even after you use the Sonos app’s (very, very) basic equalizer.

The Sonos Ace offers impressive battery life, providing up to 30 hours of playback with active noise cancellation. This feature makes it perfect for long trips or extended listening sessions without frequent recharging.

Additionally, a quick 3-minute charge can provide up to three hours of music, ensuring you never run out of power when needed.

However, even though a 3.5mm cable is provided, you can’t use it when it runs out of juice, unlike many other headphones.

Another interesting point is that you can’t use a charger that is too powerful to charge the headphones.

The Ace seems only compatible with chargers that output 18W or less. Some of my chargers don’t meet this requirement. Even my 65W charger only supports 65W or 45W & 20W outputs, and the 40W charger supports 40W or 20W & 20W outputs. These can’t charge the Ace.

Designed to complement the Sonos ecosystem, the Ace headphones feature intuitive touch controls that make it easy to navigate your music and other functions.

You can effortlessly switch TV audio from the Sonos Arc to the Sonos Ace to enjoy immersive surround sound and spatial audio without disturbing others.

Dolby Atmos offers a uniquely interactive experience, surrounding you with a three-dimensional soundstage. Dynamic head tracking detects even the slightest head movements, adjusting the sound to keep you perfectly centred in every scene.

However, at SGD 699, the Sonos Ace headphones represent a significantly costly investment. While the price reflects the premium quality and advanced features, it may be a considerable expense for potential buyers—especially when compared to other headphones in the market that offer similar features at a lower price point.

Despite this, the superior sound quality, advanced noise cancellation, and overall build quality may justify the expense for those seeking top-tier audio performance and durability.

The Sonos Ace headphones are a high-end product and meet what you would expect from a Sonos product – incredible design, excellent sound quality, and advanced noise-cancelling technology. They are perfect for daily commutes or home use. Despite their higher price, they offer superior value for money and durability compared to high-end options.
