Anime Festival Asia 2019 Bears Gifts of Anime and J-Culture!

Southeast Asia’s biggest and brightest anime festival is back for its 11th year in Singapore! C3 Anime Festival Asia 2019 will bring some of Japan’s biggest names in J-culture and anime from 29 November to 1 December into our sunny little country for the convention.

AFA’s flagship concert, I LOVE ANISONG, will be headlined by a collaboration between Ayaka Ohashi, Azusa Tadokoro, May’n, and Minori Chihara on 1 December. Bands SCANDAL, Blue Encount, and MYTH & ROID will also be playing throughout the event.

Japan’s top cosplayer ENAKO will return to AFA again. ENAKO will be cosplaying Seika, the official AFA mascot, for the event. Cosplay fans can also look forward to meeting with Baozi & Hana, Hakken, Hikarin, Hiko, Hiroto, Mon, and Singaporean cosplayer Rithe.

The AFA Film festival will make its debut in 2019, featuring an anticipated line-up of anime movie screenings and concert films. Frame Arms Girl Movie: Kyakkya Ufufu na Wonderland, a story of a school girl’s adventures with a petite autonomous robot, will make its Southeast Asian premiere at the event. Other films include CENCOROLL CONNECT, One Piece: Stampede, and a concert film featuring the supernatural anime idol group Zombie Land Saga.

Want to know the nitty-gritty behind the scenes details of your favourite anime? Industry experts ranging from voice actors (seiyuus) to composers will take to the Day Stage, sharing their experience about popular anime series such as Sword Art Online, Fate/Grand Order, and A Certain Scientific Railgun. Fans of the NEKOPARA visual novels will get to see the first episode of the anime adaptation on stage!

Missing Naruto? The new dedicated AFA PLAY zone will include a Naruto x Boruto: Ninja Selection Exam, a escape room concept where you can flaunt your hand signs and ninja running skills. It’s based off the iconic Chūnin Exam arc in Naruto, so make sure your jutsus are ready before you dive in.

AFA 2019 promises to be the best one yet, with tons of content for any anime fan. The event will run from 29 November to 1 December at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, and tickets can be purchased here or at the venue on the day itself.
