Audioengine new Audioengine 2+ Wireless has finally hit stores. The most apparent improvement from the A2 speakers (released a few years ago) is the addition of a USB digital converter, so you can now plug them directly into your computer’s ports. The A2+ speakers also have plenty of other features to boast, warranting an increased price point.
Lean Mean Audio Machine
The A2+ Wireless is a pair of compact speakers with the fresh and advanced aptX-HD audio codec that brings CD-like sound quality to Bluetooth® connections. Able to connect to any Bluetooth®-enabled device within seconds, the speakers can be paired with computers, tablets, smartphones, and the likes with ease, to create a commanding and expansive auditory experience.
The cutting-edge aptX-HD codec allows for a solid transmission of up to 100 feet without drop-outs or blips. The A2+ Wireless preserves sound data from source to playback, even when playing from streaming services like Spotify, Pandora, and YouTube.
Build & Setup: A2+
As opposed to plastic, the A2+ Wireless cabinets are made of 18mm-thick high-density fibreboard. Their woofer cones are made of Aramid fibre with custom voice coils and magnets, producing smooth bass and mid-range sounds. The speakers are capable of some pretty sweet highs, owed to their silk-dome, neodymium fluid-stabilised tweeters. The bass ports also have specifically shaped openings with tube designs, allowing for minimal air turbulence.
Boasting excellence in audio engineering and architectural design, the A2+ Wireless projects and shapes sounds out of an all-in-one system that needs no additional components. The speakers also have an auto-standby idle mode to conserve power when inactive.
You’re going to want to get your hands on this.
