With great graphics come colossal file sizes. As games become prettier and prettier, they’re bigger than ever before. Unfortunately, our new “next-gen” consoles just don’t have enough space and sooner rather than later, you’ll find yourself deleting games from your internal storage to make way for new ones. Enter the Seagate Game Drive for Xbox.
The Seagate Game Drive for Xbox is developed specifically for, and compatible with, the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, any generation of Xbox One, and Game Pass.
The Xbox Series S, being the smallest and sleekest Xbox ever doesn’t take up much space. The Seagate Game Drive for Xbox, at 117mm by 80mm by 14.8mm, doesn’t take up much space but does provide a big boost with 2TB and 4TB options.
The 4 TB capacity lets you store more than 100 Xbox One games, with game sizes averaging between 30GB-50GB.
Setting up the drive is a simple matter of plugging it in and you’ll soon be ready to use the drive. For Xbox 360 users, formatting may be required, and the console only works with the 2TB version.
Aesthetically, the Game Drive matches the all-digital, disc-free, Xbox Series S very well. It also features a built-in LED bar to illuminate your gaming centre in Xbox green.
Performance-wise, the Game Drive for Xbox with its USB 3.2 Gen1 port, meets the advertised speeds of 140 MB/s and works great for the Xbox Series S and its games. For the Xbox Series X though, while it still does well, you might want to consider the Game Drive for Xbox SSD with speeds up to 540 MB/s.
With an active Microsoft Game Pass subscription and the Game Drive, not only will you be able to play high-quality and brand-new games with friends, you’ll be able to carry them with you as well.
