Facebook and IMDA Bring Back Second Year of the Facebook Creator Lab Singapore

Facebook Singapore together with Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) have announced the return of the second season of Facebook Creator Lab Singapore.

The announcement was made at the inaugural Facebook Watch Presents event that showcased the best of Facebook Watch and creator content from Singapore and the region.

“We are excited to partner with IMDA for a second year to continue the success of our Facebook Creator Lab Singapore as we continue to mentor the emerging creator community in Singapore. Creators build some of the strongest communities on Facebook – from Groups comprised of enthusiastic fans to video series that develop loyal followings in Watch,” said Saurabh Doshi, Head – Entertainment Partnerships, Facebook Asia-Pacific.

“Creators like Singapore’s Natalie Dau RockStarArms, The Travel Intern, Share Food Singapore and Our Grandfather Story are producing original, engaging content that the community on Facebook love. Through the Facebook Creator Lab Singapore, our endeavour is to continue to empower local individuals with talent and creativity to pursue their passion as a profession.”

Howie Lau, Chief Industry Development Officer at IMDA added, “IMDA is proud to partner with Facebook for the second year of Facebook Creator Lab Singapore. The programme provides local emerging creators with the knowledge, skills and mentorship required to take their concepts to a global audience and build a sustainable career as a digital content creator.

This supports our goal to develop a new generation of media companies and talents in Singapore that can create innovative content for new media platforms. We look forward to seeing the creation of more “Made-with-Singapore” content for audiences around the world.”

Applications for the second edition of Facebook Creator Lab Singapore are now open, and will close on January 31 2020.

Successful applicants will be notified by the end of February 2020, and will have access to training and workshops, to build better content and monetise on Facebook, and get the opportunity to grow their network by meeting other like-minded creators.

Up to five creators will be selected, and will receive support to develop their content pilot. They will also receive video production mentorship from professionals in the industry and be offered access to IMDA’s PIXEL facilities.
