*SCAPE’s fourth annual National Youth Film Awards (NYFA) is now back and with a brand new Open Youth Category!
The NYFA is a national film awards body that aims to promote a culture of national excellence in filmmaking and animation while also recognising youths who are incredibly talented in the many fields within the film industry.
With the future of youth never too far from mind, *SCAPE will be holding several filmmaking talks, workshops and masterclasses from February to June 2018.
Conducted by leading media professionals and our equipment partners, these sessions will enable youths to gain first-hand industry insights learn about the latest technology in filmmaking and content creation equipment.
The Media Student Category is open to all full-time students who are under the age of 35 (before 31 December 2018); who are residing in Singapore; and are currently enrolled in a media-related course/module at an Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) in Singapore.
Apart from the Media Student Category, NYFA 2018 is introducing a brand new Open Youth Category. This category is open to all youths between the age of 15 to 35 (before 31 December 2018) residing in Singapore, regardless of nationality*. It is aimed to encourage them to embrace different definitions of success and multiple pathways of merit through the medium of film.
The submission deadline is 18 May 2018, Friday.
The NYFA 2018 award ceremony will take place on 28 July 2018, Saturday. A total of 26 awards will be presented at the ceremony.
