Taking place at Cairnhill Community Club, RPG Day is Singapore’s largest gathering for Dungeons & Dragons fans, tabletop roleplaying game enthusiasts and independent developers.
This year, Singapore’s burgeoning tabletop developer scene takes center stage, with Avid Voyager Games, FNP, Hyperlixer and Nekomancy Games showcasing an eclectic mix of board games, card games and roleplaying game worlds including The Villager, Codex Fantasia, Endogenesis and Catventure, while popular digital artist CGlas will be at the event to promote his recently launched Kickstarter for Pentopia – a tabletop RPG setting compatible with D&D.
RPG Day will also see the launch of “Ooze There?”, Singapore’s first foray into official D&D Adventurers League content by Darryl Ho of FNP & Jason Koh of Neo Tokyo Project, and fans can look forward to “Drums of the Dead” – a cooperative, raid-style “Epic” with as many as 60 players adventuring concurrently on Sunday.
“RPGs are a great way to bring people together, to foster lasting friendships through shared experience and can even help players better their communication skills,” said Jonathan Tan, co-founder of RPG Day and spokesperson for D&D Adventurers League Singapore Community (DDALSG).
To empower the community, DDALSG will hold monthly public workshops at Cairnhill Community Club post RPG Day to share tips on storytelling, gameplay and game writing, and fans can sign up for these workshops through the DDALSG website. “We hope to foster a more inclusive environment where anyone can benefit from RPGs and shared storytelling,” Jonathan added.
RPG Day takes place 9-10 June 2018, and general admission is FREE. Participation in Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Starfinder games are chargeable at $5 daily, and play passes may be purchased at the door.
