Westward, an award-winning American Single Malt whiskey, launched today in Singapore, its first market in Asia.
Westward is a leader of America’s craft distilling resurgence and the anchor of Portland, Oregon’s famed Distillery Row. Since the opening of its new, expanded distillery in 2015, which increased capacity six-fold, Westward is both the largest distilling operation in the American Northwest and the largest craft distiller on the West Coast of the United States.
By brewing American pale ale, from scratch, using 100% locally malted barley, ale yeast, and a slow, low temperature fermentation, Westward pursues perfection through its philosophy of minimalist distilling, a crucial difference in an industry driven by the principle of mass efficiency.
The fresh beer is then distilled twice in custom pot stills to create a bold, robust spirit. Finally, the whiskey is aged starting at 62% ABV in new, lightly charred American Oak barrels in Portland, the heart of the American Northwest, where their hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters are the ideal environment to raise a world class single malt whiskey.
Following a successful launch in Australia, we’re thrilled to bring Westward Whiskey to Asia with our launch in Singapore. We’re seeing a lot of excitement for American Single Malts as whiskey enthusiasts around the world discover the category and look forward to expanding that here in Singapore.
